You are not who you used to be; or a sense of decay in the reflection of one’s identity.

Decay is a natural process in all of nature, but I think it’s just as relevant in a social and psychological commentary.  It is not a detrimental idea, but an idea of progress and change.  In nature animals shed their skin to reveal a new layer, plants die leaving seeds and nutrients for the next season of growth.  We as humans and sentient beings do the same sort of process in terms of our identity.  We are not who we were years ago, our current self is different in so many ways than all of our former selves.   We lose our old friends, old habits, and old ideals.  Through the passage of time and a natural decay of identity based on new experiences, went enter new seasons of life we begin to shed our old selves, using them as compost for our new selves to grow and feed from.

I’ve been writing a lot and I figured I’d post something as sort of an update/opportunity for feedback/ whatever.
